Russ Schutte #4

This is 97-99 of Russ' pictures, for page 68-82(vintage years), 2000 or 2001, 2002 click each year.

Russ Schutte #4 started demo'ing when he was 16 in 1968 with 56 Buick. He went on to smash a 58 Ford Fairlane with retactable hardtop, 67 Fairlane, 67 Fury, and many 62-64 Ford Galaxies just to name a few. Back then a six pack of beer or a couple cheap cigars got you a demo car at the local junkyard. We didn't have a torch or welder and we prepped our car with a pair of tin snip, a banding wrench and beer. He continued to derby until 1980 and thought he was done til he's younger brothers got into again in 1994. Heat wins and feature spots were rare event in the old days but with the guidiance of his little brothers he got a 2nd, 1st and a 3rd in the feature in his first three years back (96/97/98). He's also won Rockford and got heats wins in Monroe, Stoughton and Sauk Pairie. He's our crew chief and is now setting cars up for his daughter Vicki too.

The Fritomobile was a super clean 76 Chevy Impala from KY
Sponsored by Frito Lay, Hair Crafter, TJ Performance, Precision Drive Control, Ace Hardware and S&S Consruction(What a whore)

After Monroe 98. He got a flat and they got over him and torn him apart

This is a 75 Impala that was very rusty and we prepped it in two days to run Sauk Pairie '99. Sauk doesn't let you run safety bars for driver's protection but they let you run solid ready ready rod all the way from the frame up through the trunk and hood.

It did fairly well but the tranny started acting up and would only shift with the engine off so he had to kill the engine, shift, and then restart. Makes it kinda rough to drive. The roof damage was done when we went to roll it on it's side to change the tranny but it went all the way over and crushed the roof. Nothing a skid loader couldn't fix.

This is what it looked like after Pat ran it in Monroe 99.

73 Chevy Impala #4, this car was a rust bucket
but he still squeezed a trophy out of it

The whole radiator support was torn in half.

It was so torn up after winning the heat it never made it out to the feature. He ran Mike's Buick and half way through the feature the motor locked up.
